It has been beastly hot here in Ohio, and I have been
anxiously watching the temp gauge on My Battery go
up, up, up. We don't have ac, and other than aiming a
fan at the pb, there isn't much I can do. I looked at
those cooling stands, but like many other people on
this list, I just can't put money into one of those
right now. While worrying about how hot the book can
get before problems start, I took a plastic bag of
frozen pet food out of the freezer and set it on the
counter. Suddenly, the eureka hit me. Who knew the
pb was a good pet food defroster? :)

Seriously, how hot is too hot? Until I started
running my battery, I had no idea how hot these
puppies get. I am wondering how much heat affects
overall performance/battery life. Does excessive
temperature activate system shutdown, or any evasive
techniques? I have dealt with heat issues on desktop
systems. How much hotter do g3 upgrade cards make
pb's run?

Thanks
