beable to afford something soon.. -josh

Hi Josh,

The only PowerBooks that can be upgraded to a G3 via CPU upgrade are the 1400 series and the 2400c. The 3400c can be upgraded to a G3 with a motherboard swap.

The best bang for your buck will probably the a 1400/G3. Earlier clamshell iBooks are getting fairly inexpensive, though maybe still a bit much for a first job type buy. A good way to get a feel for "fair" prices on used Macs is to see what other people have paid for them. Check out eBay's search function for completed auctions...

Good luck with the job!
Peace,
Drew
