Intelligent Battery Update (IBR) is for PB 5X0s only, as far as I now
know.  You might want to see if it actually works on a 5300.

I believe that Apple's "Battery Recondition" _might_ work on a 5300, but
I don't have much knowledge about 5300's right now.  However, since the
5300's _do_ use NiMH battery cells in their pack, the procedure below
will be applicable
