US is a whole different country! I contacted Apple Italia a few days ago. They sent me to an authorized Apple Center such 50 miles from my city and there I was told it was too late. So I had to tell them that I was a journalist and they changed their minds and said they will try to sort things out.

The problem now is that the serial # of the PB 190 is fine (as I bought it in Italy) but the serial # of the 5300ce (purchased in the USA) is not in the database.

I had to insist to get a receipt after I left them the two units.

In any case the two units will be sent to Holland.

Will keep you posted.

I just called in myself, and they're going to replace the broken hinges
for free. The guy on the line said he was nearly worn out from talking
to all us last-minute folks, but maintained an amiable sense of humor
nonetheless. Call in and make his day.

--Cheers,
Tom
