If you want to set Mozilla as your default browser, go into the "Internet" control panel and you should have plenty of different options available for selecting your web browser, email client, news reader, and more. Make sure you go back to the control panel after any changes to your system or your browsers because updates have a sneaky way of changing your default browser (sometimes also your default home page).
I just reinstalled system 9.1 and was rudely reminded that as part of that install, Internet Explorer hijacks all browser activity.
Case in point: When surfing within Mozilla, I often drag the bookmark to the desktop to create and simple, quick return alias. After closing Mozilla, you would expect that you could double click and go back using Mozilla (since it created the alias) to revisit the page. The way the system works now is that when I start in Mozilla, drag a bookmark to the desktop, close Mozilla, and double click on the desktop icon, we wake up IE (not Mozilla) and go to the page with Explorer. I don't want to use IE unless I specifically select it.
I corrected this problem a long time ago, but can no longer remember where to find the window which allows me to change that IE relationship and switch the default to Mozilla? Can someone help me?
