Greetings. I have a peculiar situation with my recently acquired PB180. Since it didn't come with any floppies I haven't been able to test the floppy drive. So I thought to format some IBM floppies to Mac-readable. But I haven't been able to. Repeated attempts to initialize floppies have failed. Does this indicate a problem with the drive itself? It appears to be able to read the disk, because when I insert a floppy, the dialog comes up indicating the disk is not Mac readable, and asks if I would like to initialize? When I click OK it appears to go through the process of initializing and verifying, but then the dialog shows the bar with the amount out of 1440 KB readable. The bar is empty, and then the dialog changes to "initialization has failed!" Ordinarily I would have suspected a faulty diskette. But this process failed on four separate disks.

Gary
