Get your #8 (and also a #6, if you're replacing the floppy) from Sears. 
About $1.98 each.

The extensions are at least 2" long.

If you insist upon a long 1/4" hex drive bit, then it will have to be 
specially ordered through an industrial supplier.

(The tolerances of the Torx(R) heads are so loose that a T9 will usually 
drive a T8).

With a T6 and a T8, there is likely no PowerBook that you can't crack.

Oh, I forgot, some will require a T10, so a T6, T8 and T10 will cover 
every eventuality.
