Thank you, gentlemen. I've three 5300's, and a 190cs. One of the
5300's (after a top lid plastics transplant--someone put the wrong
screws in the wrong place, and the lid came apart in my hands when I
closed it) is now in the hands of a friend who had to fight off all the
aluminum foil beanie wearers in the local library just to get e-mail
from her kids. (AFBW's seem to come out of the woodwork in the
Northeast Kingdom of Vermont...) She can now do e-mail at home, and
just as a BTW, thinks PC's are stone age compared to Apple. Score
another one for the forces of good.

So I've a 190cs with lots of ghosting (horizontal lines only) on the
screen, an extra 5300 cs screen, and a compulsion to see if the ghosting
will go away with the 5300 screen. Thanks for the reassurance, and I'll
let you know if I let too much of the blue smoke out of the 190, and if
the ghosting is fixed.
