Anyway, I'd like to plug Coaster. Coaster works excellently, and it has the added benefit of being free. It's got oodles of nice features.
I use it to record the occasional political bombshell speech (like Colin Powell's appearances before the UN Security Council) and a Guy Noir skit here and there. It also makes a great system for digitizing vinyl records.
Also, the 1400 should accept a standard line-in just fine. Hook up the stereo's line-out to the 1400's "Sound In" jack, and select "Sound In" as the audio source...
