We have just aquired a PB 270C running Os 7.5.1.
Its a nice machine full off really useful programmes but there is a minor
fault or faults to be precise,on the HD. Clicking any sub-menu on the
drop-down menu (from the 'Apple' top left) freezes the machine.
Disk repair finds this and some other faults but tells us the drive is
write-protected - so we can neither repair it, or re install ,or upgrade
without a complete re-initialisation which will lose us the programmes on it
we'de like to keep.
Are you running DFA from the disk repair disk? At System 7,5, it couldn't repair the boot disk. You'll need a dock with a floppy at the very least to effect this fix.
