I'm running 7.6.1 on my 540c and have it connected via ethernet to an 8500/G3. Make sure ethernet is turned on in the extension manager. Also make sure you have the proper cable type. A "patch" cable only works with a router. I believe the one I had to get was called "crossover" or maybe "straight thru". The wires are arranged differently in the plug ends. Good Luck, Rick
Bookies, I've chugged away and got this little book running 7.6 (19 home made floppies) but I can't get ethernet going. It's been a while since I used OS 7.6, but I think I have everything set right. When I try to set the book's AppleTalk to ethernet, I get an error has occurred message. AppleTalk is active, got a transceiver hooked up to the book's AAUI and a rj-45 over to a G3. Got them to talk via Local talk/printer port, but no go on the ethernet. -- All the Best,
R.A. Cantrell
