I have recently gotten my hands on a 9.1 CD, so i will be doing a full format and reinstall. While I am at it, might as well do a zero all data since 750MB shouldn't take that long. I have not given up hope just yet, but if it does appear to be a logic board problem, I can grab a 133 or 166 one off ebay for <$50.
If you are feeling masochistic you can search completed items (from the advanced search options) and see what you missed :) (that's a good way to get a feel for prices).
