I'm having a strange problem with my daughter's PB1400. System details are: PB1400c, G3 250 Mhz, 64 Meg RAM, OS 8.6.

I have partitioned her hard drive into two, and have virtual memory drawing 98 Meg from the smaller partition. When it is running, the OS is using 11.7 Meg of virtual RAM, and isn't touching the real stuff. The problem comes when she tries to run "The Sims", and gets an error message that she needs 89 Meg of RAM for that application. The problem is that the largest piece of RAM (according to the computer) is the remaining 86 Meg of virtual memory. It doesn't even look at the real RAM.

Is there anyway I can set this 'book up so that the OS uses the real RAM so that the software sees the large piece of unused virtual RAM? Or is there any way to make the 'book combine the real RAM with the unused portion of virtual RAM so that the application can run?

Thanks for any suggestions you may have.
