On the 520 (same as the 540), you can control an audio CD playing in an external CD-ROM, but from my experience (and from what the CD software folk tell me), it won't play back thru the SCSI line reliably. I just plug a pair of external computer speakers into the CD-ROM and use those--they have better sound than the 520c has anyway. :)
