Certainly that's odd.

Are you connected to the internet when it happens?  Do you have your click sync'ing 
via the internet and not know it?

I am doubtful that's the cause if you've reinstalled the OS, but was the only "far 
out" thing I could think checking that you didn't mention explicitly.
