Just for comparison's sake, I built my brother-in-law a 1400cs/133 upgraded 
with a Sonnet G3/400 & 64mb RAM; and it uses the backside cache w/o a problem.

I cannot remember what OS is on there; it is either 7.6.1 or an early OS 8 
version...

Also, I believe the 117mhz and 133mhz logic boards are the same in the 1400 
series...
