Thanks, Clark. I found two almost identical chips with
no trace of markings re: the 68HC05. I assume Apple
made sure these were not going to be confused for
Motorola's brand.
Well, I'm no further ahead. But it's the journey that
counts, not the destination - or something like that.

Note that is copyright and year, not just an Apple
part number. That's because it has ROM code in it
that
is protected by copyright, just like the system ROMs.
