Hiya Listers,

Much to my shocked surprise, my boyfriend discovered a full set of OS 7.6
install disks neatly boxed up in his computer room this weekend with
other old Mac software, and I wanted to see if I could install this OS on
my PB 190 (OS 7.5.2), which I had up there with me. It wouldn't install.
First it was telling me there were "problems" with the HD, so I Disk
Doctored (found and fixed some problems so I guess it was right!) and
then Optimized the HD before trying again. On the retry, there were no
such "problems," but after numerous PITA disk switchings and operations
which were taking quite awhile (though which seemed to proceed OK despite
the slowness), when I got to about Disk 4 in the installation set, it
finally told me it couldn't install the OS at all. Any idea why? I mean,
if a PB 190 can run up to 8.1, surely 7.6 should be okay, right?

~Yersinia.
