Hello, fellow listers!
Got my Kanga a few days ago, and I'm thinking of running it side by side with my 1400c/333 MHz G3.
Right now, the Kanga feels faster, even if it is a 250 MHz G3 with 512 Kb of L2 cache, against the 333 MHZ with 1 Mb of L2 cache. But the motherboard is 50 MHz against the 33 MHz of the 1400c.
And let's not forget the much, much better graphics chip of the Kanga.
Anyway, my problem:
About 80% of the CDs that I inserted are not properly ejected. The green led of the CD-ROM drive lights, but it stays like that with no effect whatsoever. Twice a warning window opened with no text, just a button. I pressed it, the window disappeared and the Cd icon disappeared, too. But the CD was not ejected. I had to force a restart because there was no way for the menus to drop.
I exchanged the 20x drive, and used the 12x drive of a 3400c I had, that works great with the 3400c.
Same result. Is this a problem with the Kanga? Is it fixable?
Any help, opinions, etc. will be appreciated.
Best regards.
Hugo Diaz
P.S. Just noticed that most of the CDs that are ejected are original CDs, not the ones that I burned.
