I have a powerbook 5300 with a zip drive in the expansion bay that works fine. When I tried it in my >3400 it froze the machine at start up to a gray screen with an arrow cursor. When I put in the CD rom it
started up fine. Can anyone tell me what could cause this problem?
With requests for assistance such as this, it is generally helpful to know the OS versions, and what >drivers/extensions have been installed, whether through the OS or separately. It is unlikely that the >"problem" is due to the PowerBook model difference.
The 3400 has OS9.1 installed and the iomega driver which was installed with the system and shows up in Extensions Manager as turned on. I believe that the Iomega driver should be all that is needed for the zip drive to work.
