About three years ago I bought a Kanga w/64 meg card = 96MB RAM. I used
it for almost two years with no problems whatsoever. This past Fall I
bought my dream 466MHz DVD Clamshell and put the Kanga in a drawer. It
sat there until this past weekend when I decided to sell it to a cousin.
I figured it would be a good idea to plug it in, charge the battery and
remove personal info before she picked it up.

It won't boot completely. Sometimes it chimes and does nothing else.
Sometimes it boots but freezes when the desktop begins to show icons.
Once it even made the same sound as a baseball going through a
grandparents living room window - something they still remind me of. I
never heard that sound in a computer before and thought the screen blew
up. It didn't and seems to be the only sure working item on the laptop.

I've tried everything ever mentioned on the list and can only say, I
fought the Kanga and the Kanga won. I can't justify any more time spent
with it and now only wish to part with it ASAP. I removed the 5 gig hard
drive and it worked in a Wallstreet. I swapped out every part except the
logic board and suspect it to be what suffered drawer death.

If anyone is interested in buying the entire laptop then please email me
off list. If nobody here is interested then I'll part out the known good
components on eBay.

Here's what will come in the laptop:
5 gig hd
64 mb ram
good 1+ hour battery

Here's what can be negotiated into the sale:
Extra 1+ hour battery
power supply
g/v 56k v.90 pcmcia modem w/dongle

Here's some basic info on the laptop:
The case is in excellent condition with almost no signs of being
handled. The screen is perfect. The keyboard had all keys removed with a
thorough cleaning of entire unit. The laptop is clean as when new. It
used to be a perfect working laptop. Maybe it's just mad at me for
selling it to my cousin.

Please feel free to ask all the questions which come to mind.
Shipping will be from Seattle.
Chuck
