There is definitely something wrong there.
My 500mhz G4 showed a like 80% gain in almost everything over the 266 G3.
And like a 400% gain in AltiVec stuff.

Launch times are somewhat disk heavy, and probably do not reflect processor speed. Run a SETI block or such.
