Yes, and it's a unavoidable aspect of increasingly thin laptop design. (This is hardly an Apple-only issue)

Laptops flex, they're thin enough that when they do, the keyboard touches the screen.

We don't have the material to make something stiff and strong enough to not flex without making it vastly heavier, thicker or insanely expensive (I suspect there are exotic metallo-ceramics or carbon fiber composites in the lab and high end manufacturing which might work, but if Apple were to sell a $10-$15,000 laptop in these times, where $9-$13,000 was the cost of manufacturing the case, they'd be laughed out of the business ;-)

The marks aren't from the keys, but from the oils and such left on the keys by your fingers. Careful and persistent cleaning with iKleen, or similar screen cleaners ( or "See Clear" eyeglass cleaners; box of 100 from Costco for $14, iirc) will get most or all of it up.

THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP: Then get into the habit of slipping something between the keys and screen when you close it.

If you get a new laptop, they all come with a piece of foam or non-woven fabric between the keys and screen when shipped. Use that. You can also use a sheet of paper, a paper towel, or something like OWC's keyboard protector.

Buy a chamois at a auto supply store; for a few bucks you'll get enough to make a half dozen protectors. You can even pretend they're "fine corinthian leather" ;-)
