Hi Brian, Andrew and anybody else,

Well, I'm flattered from all the help.
Here's the latest from Apple regarding the Client SW:
The word 'server' I counted only once, and that was an
OS X version!
Using Apple's downloads search engine, 'Appleshare
server' as the search term does not point to the SW,
but to innumerable technical points. No attempt to
sell you an older version, etc.

So, please let's talk Telnet. Anyone?
Many thanks
George
(PS: if anybody is still interested, Macorchard has
some amazing freeware and shareware. That's where I
got the idea to possibly have the remote 3400 dial-up
the data to a website or ftp server. I believe there
are still some freebie sites? If anyone is using one
or knows where they are, please tell me (us).)
