I just got a 1400 powerbook with a G3 upgrade (so it's only 1/2 removed from being off topic).
It's going to my Dad who has 2 1400s which have both developed a problem with printing which the local shop says requires a new motherboard.
This machine should give him a G3 that will use all his old peripherals.
It came with OS 8.5 and has now been updated to 8.6.
System profiler shows:
"Processor info: PowerPC G3"
"Machine Speed :33 MHz"
I'm guessing that the bus speed is 33 MHz since I don't recall there being a 33 MHz G3.
Does this sound plausible?
Are there any other things I should look out for on this model?
