FWIW, I'm using 8.1 on both my 5300c and my PPC'd 520c.
Deleting all of my cookies didn't make a difference--I still get the standard login name and password. gmail.google.com gives me a domain doesn't exist message, and I can only get to the site with gmail.com.
I tried Netscape 3.x and did see that "browser not supported" message, but I get an error stating that the function being called isn't supported. ARRGH again. :)
