Thanks, Brian, but Mozilla won't help in this situation, and while some people are getting some results using iCab, I can't duplicate their results. (take a look at the thread and you'll see what I mean. :) )

So far I've tried the old Netscape, and IE (was told I need ActiveX which won't run of course) Cyberdog and Opera. Opera gives me part of the signon box--but no sign-on button! arrgh, still. :)

I tried Netscape 3.x and did see that "browser not supported" message, but I get an error stating that the function being called isn't supported. ARRGH again. :)

I'm coming late to this thread, and I've not backtracked all the way yet to the start.

BUT that won't stop me from commenting, no sir :)

IMO, nothing other than a Mozilla-based browser is going to work in your situation. Nutscrape 3.x (and 4.x) is way WAY too old to work.

I'm not sure that there is even a Mozilla that will support 7.6.1 or 8.1, but perhaps look at ftp.mozilla.org, 1.2.1 will NOT work under your OS but you could go back in releases until you found one that will maybe run at least, and then you could test. Whether it will work with gmail is a point to test (I would test but I have no CPUs with older than 8.6 available). I just looked at older version but without downloading, the README files are not super helpful for OS compatibility.

I think you're stuck though; Mozilla 1.2.1 is not officially supported, but works, under 9.1 on my 1400. Not that that helps you much, but it's all I can test.
