If Appletalk is turned "on" on the you can hook up to the computer (145 that willl boot but has a bad screen, right?) over a printer cable via appletalk. Presupposes file sharing turned on, too, I guess.
You can try zapping the PRAM on the 180; some models of macs are more sensitive to hardware changes than others.
