You mean the JavaScript Identity/Settings pref? Set to iCab v 2.98 (default)?

Don't spoof unless you absolutely have to.

What about the Internet Identity / Proxies pref setting?

Set both the browser and javascript identies to iCab.

When I set it to iCab I couldn't even log
into this Yahoo mail account.

Yahoo is a special case. Their HTML is broken. To make iCab work with Yahoo! Mail, create a filter specifically for Yahoo with the necessary identity and script settings. There are detailed directions in the iCab Yahoo! Group.

Or you could do something silly - don't use Yahoo Mail. There are hundreds of free email services out there that offer POP3.

...There's a chicken &the egg problem here. Companies signed the MS IE-only contract to get cheap web servers. Then management reviews the "usage logs" and sees that 98% of their "customers" use IE, so they see no need to break the MS deal or force their developers to use the international standards. And we'll never show up on those reports because those of us who don't use IE have set our browsers to spoof as IE...
