3400c USB and a JumpDrive

OK, I just got through shaving down a cardbus USB card, and I have a 
lovely icon of a PCMCIA card with USB and the usb symbol on my desktop 
(9.1). I want to use a 256 mb Lexar JumpDrive to move files from my PC 
to the Mac. So I pop the jump driver into the USB dongle and... nothing.

Any hope that this might work? Would I have more luck with a compact 
flash car and a USB adapter?
