I'll buy that ... but consider that the issues with respect to Cardbus compatibility are pretty consistent across the 2400, 3400, 3500 (Kanga) and "G3 Series" (WS-I/WS-II): same obsolete TI "bridge" chip on the motherboard, which is often incompatible with later VIA-based (and other) Cardbus cards, which don't use the TI Cardbus interface chip, but rather use their own implementation of that TI chip.
