List newbie's first questions:
I just a picked up a working Powerbook 520c for my Kindergarten-aged son to mess around with -- it was less expensive than most toys at only $14. I'll probably spend a fair amount of time getting it up to speed.
A few questions:
Is 7.5.5 the best OS for this machine?
Are there any ways to recondition batteries? The one it came with is dead and the ones that work on eBay are $80-$90.
Will I be able to transfer files from an OS X machine to this if I can get an Ethernet adapter? I can't seem to find my old AAUI-10 base T adapter, might have tossed it.
I'm in Grand Rapids, MI. Does anyone know a place where I may be able to pick up flea-market type RAM upgrades, parts, an extra power supply?
Are the PCMCIA card adapters and Power PC cards pretty much non-existant?
My wife was just commenting on how this machine still looks pretty good for being 12-13 years old. It's also kind of fun relearning 7.5 -- all the good bad and ugly....
