OSX contains a 9.2.2 operating system that probably will allow you to continue to use your old software. I use both interchangeably and so far, except for my printer driver, everything works on OSX and it switches automatically to 9.2.2 to use classic software. The change is almost imperceptible and immediate to the user. However, check your printer driver to make sure that there is one for OSX first. It is a nuisance when the printer (Epson CX5400) doesn't work on OSX. If you try OSX, I don't think you will be disappointed.
