Yes, but you would require Hard Disk Speedtools(R), if not an Apple ROMed 
version.

IBM made 500 MB, 750 MB and 1000 MB versions (and some smaller versions 
as well), although the 1000 MB units are exceptionally scarce.

I use 500 MB and larger ones in PB 500s, and smaller ones in LaserWriters.

IBM 2.5" SCSI drives are very good!
