Hey Gary,
I'd think it was a 2400, based on the stuff I've looked up on it. The 2400 was co-designed by IBM, which lends credibility to the assumption that it was a 2400. I would say go for a 2400, based on the specs. If weight and size aren't as big of an issue, go with a G3, but for overall portability, go for the 2400.
