My 1400 used to have issues like that. When I flexed the display it would go away. I took the display apart, reseated all the connectors and it's worked perfectly since. I would only recommend taking it apart if you are skilled or brave. If it's intermittent it's probably a loose connector, if it's constant it's possibly something else. I do have an old PB that has a scrambled display, based on the cracks in the case and lack of problems inside I think it was dropped.
