There are a lot of places that offer free wifi these days.  If there's a 
Panera's cafe near you, try there.  Also, if you go to maps.google.com and 
then the local directions option, then type in wifi yourtown,ST (state) 
you'll be presented with a list of wifi spots.

Also try out local public and college libraries--a lot of them are 
offering free wifi.
