The QuickTake software does work, on OS 8.5 thru 9.2.2. You just
have to be careful how you install it. The installer is pretty
stupid; it blindly replaces some QuickTime and serial support files
with ancient versions - and that's what causes the problems. You
just need to restore the replaced files after running the installer.
You have good backups, right?
Been a long time since I've done the install. I seem to recall that
the files of interest were GeoPort Serial Driver, Serial Extension,
and the QuickTime PowerPlug.

Part of the QuickTake software is from a 3rd party, so there are $
and licensing issues. If you want the full installer, you have to
call Apple and purchase it, as a legacy item.
