Uh, OK, thanks. At least I don't feel so totally stupid from having 
thought that I could work my 5300c to death -- apparently I can and 
that's the last thing I'd want to do.  So...it looks like in addition to 
finishing up my 190 preparations/refamiliarization, I'm going to somehow 
have to seriously curtail my 5300c usage for awhile to keep from killing 
it and make some noises about that monitor for the G3. I'm only barely 
"qualified" to perform minor surgery on a comparatively "easy access" Mac 
like my G3 (like replacing the floppy drive or HD, and I could probably 
add a RAM stick if I had to), there is no way in hell I'd dare to open up 
any Powerbook.
