My daughter wants a "girly" colored computer. I was checking out Imacs on Ebay.
333 MHZ is plenty fast for her needs.
So anything I should know about before buying one? (Desktop-road apple?)
Thanks, David (:

CPU speed is not the only thing to consider when buying an iMac. The tray loading units are older than the slot loading units. I have had a 433/512 iMac for about threee years and have had NO problems with the hardware.

Second the motion for the tray loaders (350 and up). 1) it is easier to get into the cases in the tray loaders. 2) the tray loaders after a certain point have Firewire (IIRC, there were some 350s that did not have FW, the 400 and up I believe all have FW, check specs at LEM).

Be aware that you are buying a used unit that you cannot test on ebay. Try the swap list also as these people are more likely to be more informed and helpful than most ebay sellers. I have been burned with ebay by not getting what was advertised.

There are some folks on the LEM Swap list selling iMacs aplenty these days.
