So here's my situation: I'm currently living in the dorms at Bradley University in Peoria, IL. The dorms do not have wireless, only a wired connection to the school's network. I have a G4 tower, and a 1400c with an Orinoco Gold card. The G4 has built in Airport, and is running Tiger. The 1400c is running 8.6 with the latest version of the Orinoco software.
The G4 gets it's internet through the wired ethernet network. I turned on Internet Connection Sharing, and set it to share over Airport. My 1400c sees the wireless service coming from my G4 when I choose to joing a "Computer-Computer network" in the Orinoco control panel, so i set it to that. The only problem is I still have no internet connection on the 1400c. TCP/IP just assigns itself a random IP address and subnet mask of 255.255.0.0, neither of which have any relation to the G4. It also doesnt even show a router address. What should I do? -- PowerBooks is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
