Two different manufacturers of the basic battery cells. BP may have been Panasonic (Matsushita) cells. BS may have been Sanyo cells. Anyway, there were two different basic cell manufacturers. BTI was able to knock-off the 500 battery, but it behaves a little differently than a gen-u-wine Apple battery.
