Clark, Do you think that if I give the terminals inside the bay a thorough clean with abrasive, back to bare metal, that it will be safe to replace the old battery with another. i.e. What do you think that the chances are that the old battery was the initiating fault? And could the whining sound I presumed was a faulty capacitor simply have been the battery burning off?
