I Have to agree with drew on that one.
10.3 seems to start faster and run a-lot better on a g3 powerbook and the interface seems more easy on the eye that 10.2. But being a pre G3 list i would say, What's the specs of the 603 you are trying to load it on. (this really does matter) I did get 10.1 to run on a 3400c with maxed out ram and 10gb hdd but some of the ports did not work and also the book was so slow that it hung most of the time . My first impression of it though was (hey great I done it! ) (what's next?) moved on to try Linux still doing that.

I know that with each release of OS X, Apple has made the operating system faster and more efficient. But at the same time they have been making it more resource-intensive by adding new features everytime.

Which OS (presumably somewhere between 10.2 and 10.3) offers a better speed?

Of those two, the only one that will run on a PowerBook on topic for this list is 10.2.

10.3 still requires a G3 even with XPF, AFAIK.

That said, I don't really notice a speed difference between 10.2 and 10.3 on my 266 MHz Wallstreet (barely upgraded from the 233 I mentioned before). I ended up with 10.3 because it offered a few more features (and I hate the pinstripes in 10.0 - 10.2).

Peace,
