The frightening part is the fast rising cost of the " Dream Machine

You DO know that computer prices have been *falling* steadily? "Dream
Machine Macs" have not been rising in cost, quite the opposite:
I paid $3300 for my SE/30 with 2MB of RAM and a 40MB hard drive back
in 1989 with the help of a 2-year financing program from my employer
at the time. That money now would get me a MacBook Pro and a 20-inch
display to go with it. Or a 20" iMac and a 23-inch display!
