Backend Dev-Lead Role and Responsibilities: In this role, you will be expected to: • Have an expert knowledge of Software Engineering best practices, Software development lifecycle including coding standards, code reviews, build processes, testing, and operations • Communicate with other technical teams like Test & Product Management, understand and getclarity on requirements, develop and review test cases • Build high-level and low-level design documents based on the requirements • Expand the feature set of the platform in an extensible and scalable manner based on guidanceand requirements from SEA Project Teams • Do hands-on end to end development of micro-services and SPAs built on Nodejs, includingproducing the needed build artifacts • Be a quality-oriented team lead to ensure strong code-review process and test-coverage checkson all deliveries from the team • Be curious and ensure requirements are fully understood end-to-end from customer-orientedmindset and breakdown the requirements to individual team members for execution • Communicate often and effectively with all team members • Work overlapping hours with Pacific time zone as some teams are based in US (applicable only ifthis role is located outside of Mountain View, CA) Skills needed: • Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, enterprise systems, and asynchronousarchitectures • Proven track record on delivering results, especially in the area of writing high-performance,reliable and maintainable code. • Excellent problem-solving skills using object-oriented programming concepts • Strong programming experience using Javascript for backend services using Node.JS • Proficient in database queries and management using RDBMS and NoSQL databases • Experience in building REST based reactive micro services • Experience with building backend apps & services on cloud - interacting with event/messagedriven systems like Kafka, Rabbit MQ, or similar • Experience in DevOps process and tooling for deployment with container models like Docker,Kubernetes; enabling monitoring and site reliability for the services • Quick learner, Quick to debug, and pay attention to details; with good written communication • Ability to work well in a team environment and be able to effectively drive cross-team solutionsthat have complex dependencies and requirements.
