Hello kind listmates,

I have a PowerTower Pro 250. Came with 96Meg of RAM
in three sticks, and I added a fourth. Didn't see any
speed improvement, but the OS does report more RAM. I
guess I expected something from the interleaving, but
didn't see it.

I'm torn now, though - I want a faster machine. I can
buy a processor upgrade reasonably enough, but I think
128Meg is simply not enough RAM. With PC100 SDRAM
going for only $40 for a 128M DIMM, I figured it was
time to buy some silicon! So I cruised around the
links from Lowendmac.com, looking for PTPro250 RAM. I
can't find it for less than $140 for 128M! I had
hoped to reasonably install another 256Meg, or if the
price had been comparable to SDRAM, another 512M.

Any ideas where I can find this 5V FPM RAM for less?
At these prices, it'd be cheaper to purchase a used G3
than to upgrade this PTPro!

Thanks!

FM
