Greetings to all on the list.
I've only been here a few hours and already a question I had has
already been answered!!!
I recently purchased a 2nd hand PowerBase 240; 96Mb RAM, 2Gb HD and
was running OS7.6.1 from its original Install CD.
I have since maxed the RAM and swapped the 2Gb HD for a 4Gb HD. Its
also now running OS8.1, but after hearing advice on this list, I will
be installing OS8.6 asap.
A coupla questions:
1. (Not that there is much room in the slim case, but) Can this
machine run a master/slave config on the internal IDE bus?
2. What G3 upgrades are 240 owners out there using and has anyone
got a spare upgrade card (I have budgetted around US$75 for this -
plus shipping)?
3. Should I clean install OS8.6 onto the 240 or just install over
the old OS8.1 System Folder?
