pull the chips out and re-seat them - ram hardly ever dies but under the 
conditions that you mention the contacts could use a bit of burnishing (will 
happen when you pull and replace. Also - try strating up fron the CD (hold 
down 'c' throughout startup process - your system file may have become 
corrupted ( possible - the only time my goes down is when my son dinks around 
with games)
hit the 'cuda' switch - hold it down for 15 seconds to resent the pram - or 
else pull the battery for a bit - does the same thing.
last - try these suggestions starting with the cd, then the battery, then 
re-setting the dimm & rom boards.
