It sounds as if you may have jarred something loose...
err...the monitor input is at the back of the computer...that means you kicked
the desk and the desk 'thumped' the wall I guess...
If you are getting the startup bong, but the monitor remains gray (the monitors
way of expressing an epithet), I would check the cache dimm.
I know this sounds strange, but this component is oftentimes a bit flaky,
and a common symptom
is a gray screen at startup (it won't hurt to try, but touch the power
supply before pulling the
cache module (or any ram module) to discharge any static electricity
If the monitor is black but the led is lit, then check to see if the riser
card has come loose.
The riser card carries the video circuitry for the built in monitor port.
Unfortunately, if this circuitry has gone south, it may also disallow use
of a PCI video
card and you've got to find another riser card on eBay or go to :
